Was a nice simple meal that'll honor reason to visit again?
Great food but, servers are awful and rude. The sushi chef Taka is amazing he makes the food beautiful and quick. The waitresses were busy talking in the back so he checked on us and told the waitresses to refill our drinks because I guess they think gossip is more important than paying customers. The only time the waitress was quick was to pick up the bill. The sushi chef did all their work and your's! Hire some better servers!
MoreBeen a regular here for many years, definitely one of the best sushi spot in town! Highly recommended!
MoreIt was a nice place to go but I don't think I would make it a regular stop for me. What I had was nice but it didn't have that clean crisp Japanese flare that I'm used to.
MoreBest sushi house in Southeast Louisiana. The rolls are huge and unless you can unhinge your jaw like a reptilian human (cabal) each cut takes 2 or more bites to eat. The prices are the same as or lower than other sushi restaurants but the portions are much larger. They will load you up on noodle salad. The sashimi is sized appropriately. The only con about this place is they don't serve fresh wasabi anymore. Hopefully they get fresh wasabi back on the menu instead of that other stuff. Most favored items are Mango Salmon Roll, Baked Seafood, salmon sashimi, noodle salad, and of course the Hana Special Roll. Mix the mango sauce with spicy mayo, a little eel sauce, soysauce, and a pinch of wasabi.
MoreExcellent food, the best sushi in New Orleans. Go every time been twice and will go two more times before I leave.
MoreI discovered this place 12 years ago when I lived in NOLA and it quickly became my favorite spot in the city. I now make a point to visit upon every trip back and it’s just as delicious as I remembered it. The cold noodle dish is addicting. I’ve tried to mimic the recipe but just can’t nail it. Love this place.
MoreGreat service and ever greater sushi. A very pleasant feel and very comfortable.
Good food, Caterpillar Roll was excellent. Problem: they forgot to bring me my dumplings, and when I reminded them, they brought them to the wrong table. I had them take them off my bill.
MoreGreat selection of sake and sushi. Quiet atmosphere, very cozy.
I've grown to come here regularly. My girlfriend has always been a big fan, and it is easy to see why. The food is good, which is saying something since good sushi is not easily found. The atmosphere is calm and serene, even when they're full. You shouldn't have much trouble getting a table, and the service is quick and friendly. This is a good place to bring your date, and I highly recommend it.
MoreGreat Sushi!
Casual and good quality. They also do take out. The food is quite good and competitively priced. Parking is an issue in the early evening.
MoreFantastic food! I really like the tempura sauce. In some places, it's awful. We had sushi and you should try apple saki. It's delicious!
MoreGreat sushi and good service
Super fast service, food is great and the prices are amazing.
Food here is always the best. Tai San is really a master at what he does. The rolls were very tasty and the sashimi was super fresh. Definitely try out the raw octopus sushi, the raw scallops, and the yellowtail. The servers were quick and attentive, keeping my drink filled at all times and changed out my dirty plates. Every time I come, I am very satisfied and can't wait to come back.Update: 12/13/18Another excellent dinner at Hana. The chef prepared for us a special dinner with Uni, scallops, clam soup, and the freshest sashimi I've had this side of Tsukiji Market.
MoreAwesome food! It was really busy, but that just confirms it is worth the wait. The mango salmon roll is my favorite.
MoreOur first time to Stop by, We had a late Lunch, It was Perfect. We tried Several Dishes from the Menu, Everything was Very Appealing to look at, and even Better to Eat. The Service is Fast, the Food, Fresh and Delicious and The Staff Kind and Helpful. The Atmosphere is a Pleasant Mix, A Cool, Kitsch Place, We loved it!! I Will Definitely Visit Here Again.
MoreMy wife and I have been coming to Hana regularly ever since we were introduced to it by friends three years ago. It has never disappointed. The interior is all cozy hardwood with a long sushi bar and comfortable booths (or tables for larger parties). Seaside paintings and appropriately-fishy sculptures accentuate the friendly and intimate space. The staff is always quiet and courteous. The food is always delicious. I have always, and will always, recommend Hana to friends, family and new acquaintances for as long as it graces New Orleans with it's presence.
MoreThe rolls are large and filling. The service is friendly.
Is still my favorite sushi place!
This is a great neighborhood sushi place. The staff is super nice and will make you feel welcome. The rolls are all great. Everything is served on massive platters, you'll definitely get plenty to eat! There is a heavy reliance on crab salad, but they will leave it off or substitute if you ask.
MoreTruly a great little sushi restaurant. Fish is excellent and fresh, and prices are very reasonable.
MorePretty decent family sushi restaurant.
This is our default sushi go-to. It is dependably fresh and clean. The prices are good. The staff is attentive. It's always a positive experience.
MoreVery nice interior. Sushi was really good. We got the candy cane roll, spicy tuna, and rainbow roll. Service wasn’t that great. We had 5 different servers (there was 2 of us) and the restaurant was completely empty. It was obvious none of them communicated considering we got greeted 3 times. The wine was extremely over priced. $8 a glass for a wine you buy $8 a bottle. I get you need to up charge for a restaurant to make money. But not 100%.
MoreLove this place. Consistently good food and friendly service.
This place is great. Mango salmon roll is much recommended!
Wonderful fresh sushi! Yum! 1 L❤️ve
Let me say by far the best 🍣 I have had. I must as that I had stop eating sushi because the more recent visit to sushi houses were not good. This place reminded me why I love sushi. The most significant thing to me was great taste of the sushi. The fish was well prepare and didn't have the strong iodized "fishy" taste you can get from fresh ocean fish. That made the dish for me. There wasn't many non shell options but you can request your sushi without shell fish if you are allergic to 🐚 foods. We had the fish and farm roll, Naruto roll(shell food), dragon roll (w/ shell food) and freshly roll. The freshly roll was best because I love veggies. There is no wheel chair access entrance to this location. Didn't visit the bathroom that is onsite. Host was quick with our starters drink and complimentary noodles and cream sauce. The noodle and cream was excellent. It is a child dish wish tasted good. The bill was inexpensive and the rolls were good size. Please see pictures.
MoreI asked the waiter to recommend for me and she recommended raw sushi. I just started eating sushi so I can only eat cooked one. Got home and called them and they want me to come back for them to cook it. Anyways I ended up microwaving it and it didn't taste good. I'm sure it will be better if they cooked it themselves
MoreWe really enjoyed our meal - the food was excellent, the staff courteous and sushi high quality! Will be back
MoreOverpriced average tasting food with terrible customer service. Double check your orders every time as They may be incomplete or contain allergens . There is better in the neighborhood .
MoreHana has the most delicious sushi I've had so far. I love the whole experience of eating there, from the warm towels, delicious starter noodles, and great food. I have not been disappointed by anything I've ordered here. The Hana Special Roll is a must! It's divine!
MoreGreat food and Great service!
This place was my staple for sushi & their noodle salad when I lived in the city, so naturally I had to come here first upon my return 😍
MoreHana has really good food, but the staff are incredible. My toddler just wrecked underneath the seat and the waiter could not have been more gracious. I apologize, and hopefully I tipped you well.
MoreIt is one of my favorite restaurant in New Orleans
The sushi is fresh and well prepared, but the main draw for me is the extensive menu of harder to find "homestyle" menu items.I learned how to cook oyakodon as a kid, but I've never seen it on a restaurant menu till Hana. I also love the traditional pickles and blanched spinach dish. They have a good chicken katsu, but they don't offer the pork which is one of my top comfort foods. I love their lunch specials. They're cheap and better quality than you'd expect for the price. My go-to is the chirashi.
MoreThis place is much bigger than it appears from the outside. The first level dining area has a few steps leading to the upper level dining and bar area. The soup, sushi and salad are very good and are typical of what you'd expect from a sushi restaurant. There are, however, a couple of notable exceptions. The first is the lunch special which is available every day. I got the gyoza bento box, which included 8 gyoza dumplings, salad, soup and fruit for $6.00. A $4.00 add-on got me 6 pieces of sushi, too. I think that's a pretty good deal. The other great thing was the beef skewers appetizer. It's just marinated beef and onion on a skewer, but the beef was of a much higher quality than what I've typically found at Japanese restaurants.
MoreShusi here are excellent, good prices, service are excellent.
Hadn't been here in several years but the sushi was every but add good as I had remembered, and the prices for lunch were very reasonable for this area (Bento boxes were $6.95 I think). Will certainly be back soon.
MoreConsistently great sushi. Highly reccomend
Good food and very affordable price.
Great food and service. Family friendly.
Always the best food and service
Sushi does not have to be complicated or put on a pedestal. Jana has great service, comfortable seating, and delicious food that won't break the bank. Three rolls, a hot appetizer and a beer ran about 30$. Good date spot.
MoreA long-standing and reliable sushi house, service is adequate plus a little more and the sushi is solid so I totally recommend when in need of a comfy sushi thing. They do not have much in the way of exotica, and there is some filler via mayo and the krab, yet overall it is a good sushi night, choose a booth or the bar. The sushi dudes are personable and polite if you can capture their attention. Good chirashi bowl, and the staple fish are fresh and delicious. My lady likes the tiger roll with extra crunchies and they serve it up well.
MoreThe best baked salmon and squid salad I have EVER had. The girl at the next table was saying that it was the best sushi she had ever eaten! Seriously fabulous
MoreIt was ok. My second time there. My boyfriend thinks it is the best place ever, I don't get it. Kinda dirty, dark, no atmosphere and could excuse it all if the sushi was outstanding...but it's... mey at best.
